In Link's Awakening, happening shortly following the activities of the Link on the Past, Link is found aboard his ship just after leaving Hyrule; nevertheless, he is quickly caught in a lethal thunderstorm which results in the destruction of his ship. His unconscious body is afterwards discovered by a woman named Marin on a faraway island's shores.
